this is a perfect pantry for you if…

You’re seriously organized and you need to see everything you have.

Decanting (aka transferring food into canisters) can be a game changer, but it’s also kind of a part-time job. If you want a pantry full of canisters, just know it does require consistent upkeep to keep it looking and functioning its best.

That said… we LOVE a canister pantry because it makes it easy to:

  • see exactly what food you have

  • spot what’s running low at a glance

  • keep everything looking clean, calm, and cohesive

But we also know this style isn’t for everyone and that’s totally okay!

This client’s main needs were:

  • They’re trying to eat healthier, so they wanted their snacks and go-to foods front and center

  • They wanted to know exactly what to restock on grocery day (no guessing!)

  • They wanted to see everything they owned so nothing got forgotten in the back

Side note: A clear + visible pantry setup like this can be especially helpful for people with ADHD. The whole “out of sight, out of mind” struggle becomes a lot less of an issue when everything is easy to see. So this is definitely worth considering when deciding if decanting is worth the time for your household!
